Competitions

Wannabe a Winner?

Have you ever thought about entering competitions as a way of earning things without doing more then clicking a finger? I am proof that it really is worth pursueing. I started competition hunting properly in late 2008 as I was quite jealous of the amount of stuff my brother had won. For example he won tickets to a screening of Sex and the City (unfortunately not the premiere). I even got to meet Z list celebrity Spartan from Gladiators! Pic below:

So off I began posting my entries into various competitions, and so far I have won:

£100 from One Poll
A coaching session with Sir Geoff Hurst (donated it to my brother)
Two Rimmel mascaras
A cook book
CBeebies Big Fun Time
The Rose Labyrinth
Diabetes - The Essential Guide
Wild Flowers
Family day out with the National Trust
Long Walk Home
Revlon Nail Enamel in cherries
Two books from Sugar magazine
Two complimentary tickets to the Glam Show (see other post)
A free account on Eve online for 14 days (didn't bother with this one lol)
10, 000 bc dvd box set
A couple of Little Black Books
A book called Tate by Tate
A Dvd The Long Day Closes
A Get Lippy goody bag
A pair of tickets to a night out
Trend Micro Internet Suite
and finally..
I won two tickets to a premiere of Fast and the Furious 4.

This was the real deal with red carpet, papparazi, and real A List stars. They introduced the film (even though they didn't bother to watch it!) and we even got a complimentary bottle of water and a chocolate bar! (wow!)

Included in the prize was a 3* hotel stay and a £100 cheque for dinner. Result! We only spent £42 on dinner so i was still quids in at the end of the day!

The Glam Show

Glam-Glam-Glammmour

Today I went to the Glam Show with my new friend Rachel. I met her off gumtree and was a bit worried about how we'd get on, but I shouldn't have worried. She was really friendly and we were soon talking away about jobs, guys, anything that we could think of! It would have been quite arkward if we hadn't got on really.

The exhibition at Earls Court was holding a Glam Show in which they'd advertised it as a eight sections with all different sorts of stuff in like clothes, make up etc. I had won the tickets after entering a PhotoMe competition which I sadly didn't win but I guess this was a kind of consolation prize! Anywho off we went getting our hands stamped as replacements for tickets *saving paper and all that* lol.

The exhibition wasn't as organised as we were led to believe, there were no sections just one big hall with stalls in. There was also a VIP area which we couldn't get in god damn it, although we did get a complimentary goody bag with lots of adverts in ! Great! The stalls were quite varied, it had hair stuff, make up, clothes which in my opinion looked a bit tatty lol and chocolate (thorntons) there was also a photobooth where you could take free photos and put it on their glam wall. I did two but the girls in front who actually were working there took the royal piss by printing about 30 pictures each ! GRR!

I bought a nice necklace and earring set for £15 squid and 6 perfumes for the price of one - i'd never heard of them but i can't resist a bargain and they did say one was for the new film The City. They did smell nice though so why not! Who'd turn that one down for just £20. !?

We watched a fashion show with lots of varying outfits, one of the only male models didn't have any shoes the poor guy. They probably thought they didn't actually have anything that went with the tramp attire they were putting him out in though! Nothing matched and he really did look like he had been raiding a Charity shops rubbish bin. There were a few nice dresses and stuff, and some shoes were nice but some of the outfits.. where do they come up with these ideas? They were too short and showed their knickers or bras off etc.. lol. Amusing anyhow.

I saw Nicky Hambleton Jones who presented the show and looked very pregnant. I got a few pics of her, but not sure if this bloody blog will let me upload them at the mo!

If you want to post a comment please do i will reply! xx

Cats fighting

The Ultimate in Cat Fighting

I'm sure we all know pets are wonderfully crazy creatures. I'm no different, my loveable black and white cat has been with us for 11 years and although he's a bit slower now cos he's blind he's still loveable and annoying. Back in the day though he was a right rogue, killing birds and dropping them on our doorstep as little presents. Like we were going to appreciate them! he also used to fight a lot with the neighbourhood roamer Patches.

This unfriendly, vicious example of a cat is not welcome in our garden! But still he comes shitting in our flower beds little bastard! My dads had to put in litter trays so they'd stop defecating our soil. And it worked. !

Anyway back when he was fit and able Tim used to have little fights with this evil rodent and if you want to see something funny just click below and watch the fight unravel!

My EBook!

EBooking - Love Comes Knocking

Hey again,

I'm not sure if i have mentioned this already but I have been a avid writer for quite a few years since the tender age of 14. I recently completed a medium length story of mine that only took around 4 years to complete and just now converted it into a ebook! I was quite impressed by how it looked lol and i've put it on ebay to see who would check it out.

Anyway if you fancy a butchers the link is:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120487427730

The story follows Ben, a loveable chap who unfortunately for him is just a little bit chubby. Not many girls can see past this and it makes for a rather difficult time for dear Ben. Follow him through this story as he goes on interesting dates, faces a interesting hoover demonstration and through adversity finds the love of his life.

Do check it out, it's at the amazingly cheap price of 99p! xx

Job hunting nightmare!

Job Hunting Nightmare

With the current job climate I am finding it incredibly difficult to find work. I've lost count of how many interviews I've had now and stilll relatively nothing came out of them! Admittedly for the majority of the interviews I didn't have any real experience - a fresh out of university graduate and no one would give me a chance ! :( I realise many people are in the same boat at the moment but my god it can get depressing!

It was a catch 22 situation - If you don't give me the experience how am I ever going to gain it?? but employers don't give a damn about that!

Do on and on I went getting rejections left right and centre till my dad found me a temporary position as a receptionist/admin assistant at the University of Greenwich where he works. That place has been so good to me and I enjoyed working there, but alas it had to end. So back to the job hunting I go. I found another position at UoG as a Casual worker but the key word there was casual and here I am again out of work. Till January. And back on Job Seekers. Oh the joy!

I have a interview on Tuesday for a job that seems really interesting. Wish me luck! xx

Hello and welcome, I hope you enjoy your stay!

This is me!
Hey everyone!

This is the start of my very new blog. I already have one blog on http://kathcake.wordpress.com/ but it wasn't too popular and well there are also very stringent rules on it! I want to see if i can earn a little bit of money through ads too and that's impossible over there.

My name's Kathy, I'm 22 from the lovely Garden of England Kent! I'm a honest, kind, caring sincere individual with a lot to offer and lot to rant and write about! I have been writing since I was 13, mainly short stories and novels which I still write today. I am currently trying to get a novel of mine, False Starts published but to no avail! .. yet! I will be writing mainly about my life and what happens but also a few helpful hints like money making tips for those who wish to make a bit!

I will also try to upload pics if i can. I hope you enjoy my writing!

Kathy xx
