Welcome to a interview with Beautyfulfilled.com

Welcome to chapter 2 of my interviews with some of the top beauty bloggers. In this chapter you'll find out more about the editor of Beauty Fulfilled, her thoughts on blogging and what really makes her happy.

What inspired you to start your blog? My other half pushed me to start a blog & I'm so glad that he did! I've always been obsessed with beauty products, cosmetics, skincare - you name it! And my blog allows me to share my thoughts & finds with everyone else. They say, sharing is caring ;)

What is your favourite aspect of blogging? Blogging is almost like therapy, I love it! It lets me share my favourite products not only with my family & friends, but with everyone that wants to read it. I think blogging has opened my eyes into all the great brands out there. Before I used to buy a lot of high end makeup but over the years of blogging I've realised that there are so many drugstore/high street brands out there which are a fraction of the price.

Where do you see yourself in ten years? In 10 years I would like to see myself happy - that's all I want in life. I'd like to think that I'd be married with kids :)

How would you suggest newbies build up their blog in order to receive press samples/invites? For those starting out a blog, I wouldn't recommend blogging to get samples - I get press releases sent to me every day but unless a product really stands out for me, then I'll review it. However, the best advice I could probably give you is to blog for yourself & because you enjoy it - people will see it in your writing :)

What is your favourite post? Oooh, this is a difficult one! I think one of my favourite blog posts will have to be my review of the YSL Touche Eclat Foundation - it has been one of my favourite finds & I'm so glad I got to share it on my blog!

Tell me in 50 words your ultimate blog moment? My ultimate blog moment has to be when I got shortlisted for a Cosmo Blog Award 2012! Till this day, I still can't believe it!

Do you prefer to write articles or review products? I prefer a mixture. Sometimes I will do a FOTD & sometimes I will review products. It all depends on how I'm feeling on that day.

How did your blog become so popular? This may sound really funny but I don't think my blog is popular?! Lol! I read lots of beauty blogs that have been around for years. I think the key to blogging is to do it because you love it & go from there :) If I had 1000 readers I would blog & on the other hand, if I had 10 readers, I would still blog :)

17 blusher in first flush review

17 blusher in first flush is a small circular pot in a vibrant hot pink shade.

As there's no brushes included I used my own brush to apply sweeping it in the powder.

I only applied the product once and immediately my cheeks were flushed with a very bright pink. I did feel that there was probably too much colour and I had to work hard to rub it into my cheek. A rosey look is nice but looking like you've run three miles around the block isn't really such a good look.

You can buy this blusher for under fiver as part of the 17 range which adds good value for money

The 17 blusher is a reasonable pot of blush but is quite difficult to get a minimal look.

I'll give it a 3/5

Advantages
•Good value for money
•Gives quite a intense flushed look
•A little really does go a long way !

Disadvantages
•The resulting look may be a little over the top for some people who prefer their makeup more natural

L'Oreal powder blusher review

L'Oreal powder blush in 120 is a delightful little pot of rosey warmth.

Inside the blush hides a small compartment with a blusher brush and mirror. This is a great little touch for applying on the go saving money and space.

When applying to the brush just the right amount of powder is transferred which makes for a pretty shimmery glow.

All in all a lovely little package with everything you need from shimmer to a mirror and a brush.

I'll give it a 4/5

Advantages
•Comes with a brush and a mirror allowing for easy application on the go
•Gives a lovely shimmery glow
•The blusher isn't too heavy and lasts all day

Disadvantages
•Can't think of anything

An interview with the editor of Nailasaurus.com

I wanted to bring you, my dedicated readers a series of interviews from the top beauty bloggers on the Internet.

Inspired by their originality, witty words or interesting style I wanted to find out more and now I'm sharing it with you. Here's episode 1: An Interview with The Nailasaurus

What inspired you to start your blog?
I stumbled across nail blogs in late 2009 and I couldn't get enough of them. I was reading all the blogs I could every day but I still wanted more. I wanted to see a blog that posted nail art every day but there was only one I knew of at the time - http://www.thedailynailblog.com/ - so I figured if I wanted to see more, there must be other people out there who did too. So after a few months practising nail art, I finally started The Nailasaurus in April 2012 where I posted nail art every single day and I guess someone thought I was worth a read!

What is your favourite aspect of blogging?
I think the best part about blogging is being involved in an online community of people that share a lot of your passions. So far I haven't spoken to anyone in the community that I didn't have more than nail art in common with. Whether it's food and shopping habits or movies and music - we always have something to chat about!

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Wow, I haven't really thought about it! If you asked me three years ago where I would be today I would never have guessed I'd be a 'nail blogger'! At the moment I'm just taking things a day at a time and waiting to see where they lead me!

How would you suggest newbies build up their blog in order to receive press samples/invites?
Don't assume it's your right as a blogger to receive freebies. You have to have something to offer the other party (i.e. a dedicated readership) so focus on making your blog the best it can be and building your online audience. If you have a good blog, those opportunities will find you. It's important to be original and, though it sounds corny, be yourself! It's obvious when someone is in it for the freebies and normally those blogs fizzle out in less than a year.

What is your favourite post?
That is such a hard question! Probably my gradient nails tutorial. I still get lovely emails and tweets all the time from people who have managed to 'nail' the technique after picking up some tips from that post. It's just great to know that people are finding my words and pictures helpful.

Tell me in 50 words your ultimate blog moment?
I think it was when my Studded Manicure which was inspired by a Michael Kors dress was featured on the designer's official Facebook and Twitter pages. That was definitely a good day!

Do you prefer to write articles or review products?
Neither! I've never been much of a writer so I rely on my pictures a lot on my blog. Most of my posts are a bit of chat with 3 or 4 pictures of my nails and that's how I blog!

How did your blog become so popular?
I honestly couldn't tell you. I like to think it's a case of 'you reap what you sow'. I work really hard hard on my blog and it's something I enjoy doing so in return, I gets a great response from my audience.

Finally, any other tips?
Nope :)

Does Nip Fab Dark Circle Fix live up to the promise?

It's a problem that strikes many of us through fatigue and late nights or for those lucky ones (or unlucky) family inheritance. The dreaded dark circles curse many, but how do we get rid of them?

There are many creams, lotions and potions on the market which are targeted at dark circles but do they really work?

Nip and Fab Dark Circle cream is a triple action formula that aims to reduce the appearance of puffiness and helps reduce premature ageing.

Included are significant ingredients such as:
  • Red algae to target dark circles
  • Tetra peptite reduces the look of puffiness
  • Shea butter to hydrate and soften
The product comes in quite a small bottle with a easy to use push squirt nozzle. There is detailed information on the back and the product itself is almost gel like with small white bits inside.

Now I bought this product because of a review I read on another blog so I was expecting something good to happen. Despite using this product for over a month religiously applying every night I saw no change in my eye area.

I've always had quite sensitive skin but puffiness was never a problem so I was testing it more for the dark circles kill factor. I'm sad to see that it didn't live up to my expectations and that I'll have to apply concealer for another Christmas!

I'll give it a 0/5!

Advantages
  • Easy to use
Disadvantages
  • I didn't feel the product lived up to its ultimate promise

Beauty UK Posh Polish in Intergalactic: The ultimate festival nail polish

It's Sparkle all the way with Beauty UK's new range of Posh Polishes.

Posh Polish is a rich combination of red green and yellow glitter which really envokes the colours of the festive season.

I applied the polish literally and it was quite thin on the first coat but had more coverage on the second application. It will probably look better as a overcoat on another colour such as pink or red.

The polish did unfortunately start peeling a day or so in and i'm left with a few nails with only half the polish remaining.

At just over £3 this is a fantastic bargain product that you can pick up in most high street stores. It's a fantastic imitation of a rather more expensive Nails Inc glitter polish and will look great on top of another colour.

I'll give it a 3.5/5

Advantages
  • Great festive colour
  • Cheaper imitation of more expensive Nails Inc varnish
  • The glittery polish will look fantastic on top of another colour
Disadvantages
  • Bit too thin to be used as a standalone polish
  • Chipped quite easily

L'Oreal Paris Color Infallible Sahara Treasure review

As Christmas is coming we all want to look our sexiest and what better way to do it then with L'Oreal Paris Color Infallible eyeshadw in Sahara Treasure.

Set in a small pot with simple packaging this dusky gold brown comes in a powder that can be easily spread onto the eyelid. The powder feels velety smooth and my finger really sinks into the powder with no resistance. There's no brush included but I'd recommend using your fingers as the eyeshadow loses most pigmentation when applied with a bruish. As the shadow is so sheer you can increase the depth of the colour by wetting your eyelid beforehand or just take it as it comes.

Once applied the colour doesn't seem as strong as in the pot and has more of a gold apperance. I felt this was a nice eyeshadow but lacked the intensity I believed the new range would have.

I'll give it 3/5

Advantages
  • Has a nice dusky brown gold colour
  • Can be used as it comes or on wet skin to create a more intense colour
  • Easy to apply
Disadvantages
  • I didn't think the colour was as intense as it should've been
  • The powder broke up very easily
What do you think of the new range?

L'Oreal Million Lashes Diamond (Diamantissime) Mascara Review: Does it sparkle like a diamond?

L'Oreal Volume Million lashes claims to extend and add volume whilst adding shine to your eyelashes.

The mascara comes in a attractive tube with a mixture of black and gold colouring and sparkly labelling.

The plastic brush is slightly longer then most mascaras and can cover all of your lashes in one stroke. I felt there was a minimal uplift but the coverage was good and there was no clumping. My bottom lashes looked a lot more defined and I feel the mascara worked really well in that aspect.

On examining the brush I couldn't see much in the way of sparkle and very little glitz was apparant on my top lashes. On the bottom however the glitter came out slightly better.

Overall a reasonable mascara that has some benefits and some downfalls. I'll give it a 3/5

Advantages
  • Nice packaging
  • Really does define the bottom lashes
  • Large brush means easy coverage
Disadvantages
  • I didn't feel much glitter was added despite its claim
  • My top lashes were defined but there wasn't as much volume as I was expecting there to be
You can find L'Oreal Million Lashes Diamantissime as part of a gift if you spend £15 on L'Oreal in Boots stores. Get shopping now !
