YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation

When it was first launched Le Teint Touche Eclat was acclaimed as one of the best beauty buys of 2012.

So I put it to the test.

The foundation is not heavy, but more of a mid coverage foundation that is designed purely to highlight the skin and make it illuminated.

Within the unique formula is a heavy moisturiser base which gives your skin the dewy glow that Hollywood stars are renown for.

As a designer product YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat isn't the cheapest foundation and I picked it up for £30 at Selfridges. It comes in a traditional gold packaging box and inside is a little information booklet on the foundation. The bottle is made from glass so is pretty heavy and there is a push button to expel the foundation.

As with most foundations a little goes a long way and one or two blobs were enough to cover my entire face. The colour match on my foundation was perfect so there was no orange mismatch between the product and my skin.

The foundation is quite creamy and sinks in quickly into the skin. It is not good for covering up spots or blemishes as it's only a mid coverage so you will have to use a concealer with this. The overall look is very much a natural look so if you're more of a person who likes a lot of coverage you may want to consider MAC foundations.

By the evening the foundation is still visible and its staying power had only faded slightly.

I love the glow the foundation gave me and so I'll give it a 5/5
Just after Le Teint Touche Eclat is applied
In the evening several hours later

Advantages
  • Gives a fantastic glow
  • A little goes a long way with this product
  • Perfect for those who love a natural look
Disadvantages
  • It's not a complete coverage product so isn't good for covering up blemishes
  • The product isn't cheap so you may have to save up for a while to buy i

What eyeshadow suits my eyecolour?

When choosing eyeshadow it is often easier to stick to the safe options which is normally a shadow close to your natural eye colour. Choosing a eyeshadow to suit you is actually easier then you might think, and you can find a contrasting colour that really makes your eyes stand out.

Whilst we may already be well into the new year, there's always time for change, so take a look at the guides below and try something new today!

Blue eyes are eye catching on their own so they only need a subtle glimmer to make the colour stand out. Golds, baby pinks and browns are perfect at highlighting the eyes

To make green eyes pop try orange hues, burgundy and purples.

Greens, greys and navy really compliment brown eyes and work well in highlighting the brown hues

L'Oreal False Lash Flutter video review

L'Oreal False Lash Flutter is the new mascara by L'Oreal that aims to make your lashes flutter like a butterfly.

The brush has a unique shape which is supposed to imitate butterflies wings which helps to elongate the lashes.

Check out my video review to see how the mascara really performs without the glamour of the advertisement.

Haute Coture False lash review and giveaway!

Kiss Haute Coture false lashes are the cheaper alternative to lash extensions.

They come in a compact box with each lash named as Wink and Kiss. Inside is a handy instruction leaflet, application glue and applicator which is rarely seen ina false lash set.

I'm quite used to applying false lashes but to those who are falsie virgins the instructions are a life saver, with the applicator offering a exta lifeline.

I applied the glue to the lashes and waited till it was tacky before applying. The lashes set quite well and the only side effect I had was a general feeling of stickiness, but this is quite normal.

If for any reason the lash is too long you can always trim it down with scissors before applying.

The lashes werne't too overtop so could be worn on a day out with the girls or a night with the boyfriend.

For all their added extras, ease of applying and laid back glamour I'll give Kiss Haute Coture False lashes 4/5
                      Before                                                                                            After

Advantages
  • Has a applicator which helps with applying the lashes - a rare feture
  • The lash glue is included which is a plus as some false lashes come without
  • Easy to apply
  • Has a simple instruction guide and leaflet for newbies
  • Lashes seem to adhere pretty well
  • Laid back glamour look suitable for day or night
Disadvantages
  • None that I can think of!

Avon glow powder eyeshadow in bronze glow

Avon Glow powder eyeshadow in Bronze Glow promises to take you back to that time of Summer and warmth.

The eyeshadow comes in simple small brown packaging with a sun on the title to illustrate the kind of look you will get.

Inside is a eyeliner shaped eye powder with a eyeshadow applicator.

Some of the powder eteshadows you get are often quite hard to apply but this eyeshadow swept on really easily.

The colour was a warm bronze glow as described on the box and would be perfect with bronzer or a good tan.

The eyeshadow didnt crease even after a few hours and I anticipate it will still look as it did when I applied it many hours later.

A good little eyeshadow that is great for a evening look in the summer.

I'll give it a 4/5

Advantages
•Small packaging and product so will fit into any crammed makeup bag
•Slides on really well without sticking
•Good amount of colour is applied to the lid
•Colour doesn't crease and is long wearing

Disadvantages
•Not so good without a tan as I felt it did drown my colour out slightly

Make your nose smaller without surgery!

Some people may fear that their face structure stops them from looking beautiful but there's a fix for everything these days.

If you have a prominent nose you can down play these by using a eyeshadow brush dipped in bronzer or taupe eyeshadow and draw a straight, soft line down both sides of your nose. To make it shorter you can add a upward swipe under the tip.

Try Rimmel bronzer for all your highlighting needs

Yonka Paris Pamplemousse review

The concept of Yonka Pamplemousse is simple: To protect and vitalise every day.

Created by the Laboratoires Multaler the cream is made with botanical essential oils and citrus extracts.

The Pamplemousse is part of a range of treatments created by Yonka and comes in normal to oily skin and normal to dry skin formats.

I am testing the normal to dry skin formula which is perfect for my occasional dry skin. The cream seems quite rich and a small blob of product covers approximately half a face. On application there is a very strong citrus smell and my face didn't feel itchy or irritated after applying.

I can't report on the long term effects but on immediate results I would say the cream gives me a slight sheen and radiance.

I'd give it 4/5

Before

After

Advantages
•Rich citrus smell which is quite pleasant
•A little cream goes a long way
•Comes with a instruction leaflet that explains everything about the cream
•Leaves skin with a slight radiance

Disadvantages
•Nothing immediately obvious
