The No7 foundation matching service
Today I was browsing Boots with the full intention of buying a new foundation. I wandered over to the Revlon and tested one of their Photo Ready mousse foundations. I have done it before so I don't know why I did it again but the mousse foundation gives off a lot of product in one squirt and it got everywhere!
I then went on to try their new Nearly Naked foundation. I'm not sure if it was just the tester or whether they're all like it but there was no pump to apply the product and again it went everywhere!
Needless to say I wasn't too impressed and decided to leave the Revlon foundations in search of the No7 foundation matcher.
Having seen it on the TV I thought i'd give it a try and it was relatively simple. The sales woman wipes a bit of your makeup off either side of your face and then the scanner takes a photo of your skin. My shade is Calico and it's available in all products in the No7 range which is obviously very handy.
With a sample of one of their foundations and my foundation shade I went off to continue my shopping.
Have you tried it yet?

17 Lip Stain in Berry Crush review
17 Lip Stain in Berry Crush is a twist in the traditional lip balm.
The packaging is a simple pen shape with a felt tip like applicator with a lid to stop the product drying out.
Whilst it looks like the lip stain would be very hard to apply and feel dry on application it's quite the opposite. As I pressed the nib onto my lips a wet sensation ensures my lips don't dry out and colour is applied evenly.
Whilst the colour isn't as waxy as a lipstick it gives lips a instant hit of colour that brightens the complexion. On the opposite side of the pen is a Vaseline like solution that can be applied on top of the colour to give lips a sexy sheen.
I do like the strength of colour in this lip stain and the fact that it's a cheaper alternative to brands like Revlon. However there was a slight bleeding of colour that slightly ruined the effect.
I'll give it 4/5
Before
After
Advantages
•Has a colour and gloss effect which can be gained by using both sides of the pen
•It's the perfect alternative to lipstick or lipgloss
•Cheaper alternative to Revlon's Lip Stain
•Low maintenance product
Disadvantages
•There is a slight bleeding of colour that ruins the effect slightly
17 Berry Crush can be bought from all good Boots stores

Tuesday's Beauty Tip: Avoid hair dye fading by using a everyday hair product
Whilst you may think hair dye fading is unavoidable there is something you can do to increase the time between dyes.
My top tip to avoid your hair colour fading at its normal rate is to use a deep conditioning treatment once a month.
The treatment will help to lock in the colour and will have the added benefit of staving off dry and damaged locks.
Here's a few tips on conditionign treatments you might want to try:

Dove new compressed Invisible Dry aerosol
Dove recently launched their new range of eco friendly compressed deodorants.
Around half the size of the traditions aerosol these mini cans have the same amount of content just with less packaging.
Dove in Invisible Dry has a pleasant fresh smell that lasts most of the day. When sprayed the deodorant dries almost immediately so there's no nasty white marks to stain your clothing.
The only thing I would disagree with is Doves claim of 48h protection. Whilst you are left feeling fresh for at least 18-20h I wouldn't rely on one spray of deodorant to last two days!
For it's dedication to helping the planet stay green and useful properties I'd give Dove Invisible Dry 4/5
Advantages
•A full sized product in a mini can which shows Dove doing its bit for the environment
•No white marks!
•Quick drying liquid
•Pleasant fresh smell
Disadvantages
•The can claims there is 48h protection but I'd have to disagree with that

MUA Lip Boom 4 in 1 lip product In Bring It
It's not just a lipstick or lipgloss but a multi functional lip product that is suitable for every occasion.
It's not often you find a lip product that has four functions.
Make Up Academy (MUA) Lip Boom has been designed with the help of Alexandra Burke and is perfect for the modern girl.
You can wear this lipstick alone for a matte look. The lipstick is a bright red and glides on really easily, however there is a slight waxy feel that isn't very moisturising.
To create a alternative look I applied the lipgloss to the centre of my lips to provide a full volume illusion. The gloss is really sparkly and has the most amazing vanilla smell. I was impressed with the way the gloss gave a 3d effect through its positioning in the centre of my lips.
For many girls choosing between lipstick or lipgloss is a difficult one. Choosing between colour or shine is a hard choice but with MUA you don't have to choose. I applied the lipgloss over the lipstick for a bright glossy look. Unlike some products that lose colour when lipgloss is applied the lipstick stayed intact and my lips felt smooth and non sticky.
For a casual day look you can choose to wear the lipgloss alone. It glides on so well and has a light feel that isn't sticky. The colour is actually really sparkly and catches the light.
I have to say I'm very impressed with this product. I often find with lipglosses the shine is minimal or short lasting and some are very sticky. This product is none of these and it's fantastic that you can wear it in four different ways:
•Wearing the lipstick alone
•Apply the lipgloss to just the centre of the lips when wearing lipstick
•Wear lipstick with lipgloss all over the lips
•Wearing lipgloss on its own
The only thing I'm slightly confused about is the little pot of red you can pull off the lipstick. It doesn't seem to have a purpose so why is it there?
I'll give the product 5/5
Advantages
•Amazing value for money - 4 products in one
•Product is long lasting
•Lipgloss has great shine
•Lipgloss isn't sticky
Disadvantages
•Lipstick has a slight waxy feel

Make your glow appear from within
The new beauty trend to hit the market is the blusher sweep. The new technique allows you to contour both your cheekbones and add a real glow to your complexion by sweeping the blusher from the apples of your cheeks to your eye line.
