Rimmel Kate sculpting palette in Coral Glow review

rimmel kate sculpting palette review

What the brand says
Rimmel's first sculpting palette has been designed exclusively by Kate Moss. The palette has three shades, a highlight, contour and blusher that work in conjunction with each other to create the perfect contour.

There are currently two shades in the range 002 Coral Glow and 003 Golden Bronze.

The Lowdown
I'm quite pleased with this palette and initially it seems to tick all the boxes. As I'm quite fair I chose to review Coral Glow which is a bit lighter than Golden Bronze, especially in regards to the bronzer which is a lot lighter than the alternative.

The palette has everything you need to add colour and sculpt your face which is good especially if you need to travel light. The palette is powder based and running throughout each shade is a lot of shimmer.

rimmel kate sculpting palette coral glow swatches

When I swatched the palette  the shades appear a lot lighter then they look in the pan. The shimmer is quite subtle when applied to the skin but it is there if you look closely. However when I applied it to my face I was surprised at the strength of the colour. The blusher was easy to build up and the bronzer added a lovely warm glow to my face. I love how natural the highlighter looks and it's perfect when you don't want to look too heavily made up. The blusher and the highlighter lasted all day without any touch ups and maintained pretty good coverage. The bronzer however disappeared after a few hours.

A nice palette that has good longevity and leaves your skin glowing.

I give it 4/5

Look Incredible Deluxe August beauty box Unboxing

look incredible august deluxe beauty box

Can you believe it's almost September already? I can't believe how quickly this year is flying by.
So the other week I received August's Look Incredible Deluxe beauty box. If you're not aware Look Incredible is one of the few beauty boxes that contains exclusively premium branded items - so no 'Glossybox specials'.

The last few boxes have been quite good and I've found a item or two I've gone on to use for a long time. This month's box focused on lips but there was a few other treats thrown in for good measure.

Have a look and see what I got in this month's box.

Have you tried this box or any other beauty boxes? What do you think of them?

The lawhouse reveal some of the richest pets in the world

why should i write a will

Let me pose you a question that may make you think. When you think of people who write wills, do you imagine it's all about old people deciding who to share their treasured possessions with?

Maybe... but it shouldn't be. Statistics from 2015 say over 51 million adults in the UK don't have a will. This is a starkly large figure especially considering the sheer unpredictability of life.

When you're young the thought of death probably seems very far away and the idea of writing a will seems pointless. Whilst it's likely we will all live a long and prosperous life sometimes life can throw a dagger in the works. Accidents can happen and they can be disastrous tearing families apart.
As the old saying goes, it's good to be prepared. A will is a surefire way of securing your family's safety and comfort long after you're gone. You can also decide who you feel should have what and write it up so it's completely fair. There's nothing worse then a family fighting over who's entitled to what on someone's estate!

I personally haven't yet written a will and  I do feel it's quite a sensitive matter to think about. Whilst I don't have a big family it's important to let them know they matter to you and it's something I will look into in the near future.

Not everyone has family they can leave their belongings and money too and it's often their much loved pooch or cat that ends up being very rich indeed. I worked with UK Probate lawyers to help develop this infographic. It gives you a little insight into the crazy world of some very lucky animals whose owners left their entire estate to them. As much as I love animals I'm not sure I could justify leaving so much money to my pet.
               Law House Infographic
So whether you want to leave all your riches to Fido or someone close to you here's a round up of why it's important to write a will at any age.

  • You know everything you own will go only to the people you want it to.
  • If you were estranged from your family and hadn't written a will - and your family couldn't be located, everything you own will go to the state.

What do you think? Could you leave that amount of fortune to your pet? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Your Dreams Explained With Adjustamatic

dream meanings

Dreams are funny things - they can be completely out of this world or they can seem very personal with yourself, friends and family taking centre place. Dreams are almost an extension of your self conscious and you can tell a lot about what may be important to you when you fall asleep.

I'm a pretty heavy sleeper and have no trouble getting to sleep (one of the lucky ones I guess!) I don't always dream that often but when I do, normally if I have things on my mind, it can get quite interesting. I don't know about you but when I've had a crazy dream it becomes vivid in my mind and I can remember it even years later. When I was younger I remember dreams like driving a bus (odd I know) down an ever narrowing bridge and driving off the edge. The bus rushed towards the water and I could see it rushing towards me but of course I woke up before it hit the waves.

Another time I was in my old school and went to the toilets. For some reason the toilet doors had been removed and replaced with a tiny door that barely covered any modesty. I felt so embarrassed in the dream but nature calls! They say that dreams can often signify something you're worrying about in real life and do not directly correlate with what you're dreaming about. For example the dream about falling suggests I was worried about something big happening whilst the toilet dream meant I was probably very anxious about revealing something about myself in some way. I think it's important that we take note when we remember interesting dreams as it could be significant to your life and may suggest there are things in the background worrying you that you should take control of. When you go to bed leave a note pad readily available so when you wake up after having a significant dream you can note it all down. Memories disappear very quickly after waking so by doing this you'll note down all the essential details. If you start to note a pattern appearing then it may be worthwhile reviewing what's going on in life, what's worrying you and how it can be improved.

Kids have wonderful inquisitive minds and whilst they probably won't look as deep into their dreams as you or me they can certainly have a laugh about it. Adjustamatic have teamed up with world leading dream expert Ian Wallace to help us understand what's going on in our heads when we dream. In a unique YouTube series the first chapter delves deep into the wild world of children's dreams. Check out the video below so you can see the funny antics they came out with!

If only I could have Ian Wallace on speed dial every time I have a crazy dream!

Nail of the day: Essie Repstyle Nail Lacquer

the hottest nail of the day

essie repstyle nail lacquer magnetic nails
Essie nail varnish in Repstyle is a chrome metallic varnish that is transformed by a magnet that is incorporated into the lid. I've not used a magnetic nail varnish in so long and to be honest I've not seen many around in recent months. The magnetic varnishes were all the rage a little while back and I guess the trend has died out now. I of course bought this a while ago but haven't got around to trying it. Too much makeup too little time!

The varnish dries quickly and has a lovely shiny gold finish. For some reason the magnet didn't work at all despite me applying to two coats as specified on the instructions.

It is a nice varnish but the fact that it doesn't do what it's supposed to do is a bit disappointing.

Have you managed to get the magnet part of the Essie polish to work? Let me know what you thought of the varnish in the comments!

Freedom Pro Blush & Highlight Palette in Bronze and Baked Review

freedom pro blush and highlighter palette bronzed and baked

What the brand says
Freedom Pro Blush Palette in Bronze and Baked is a collection of 8 highly pigmented gorgeous blusher and highlighter shades.

The palette is also available in Peach and Baked (check out the review here) and Pink and Baked.

The Lowdown
freedom pro blush and highlight palette in bronze and baked reviewI picked up this palette a while back with the Peach and Baked palette. Unlike the Peach and Baked palette, Bronze and Baked is a lot more unconventional. It's marketed as a blusher and highlight palette but in my honest opinion the majority of the shades are far too dark to be applied as blushers. I could definitely use the light pink shade (second left) as a blusher and potentially the pink swirl (third left) but even that is perhaps too pigmented to be an effective blusher. The shades look amazingly pigmented and I can tell just by looking at it the highlight will be really strong. You could even get away with wearing some of the shades as eyeshadow, especially the middle dark gold shade and the dark pink shade on the second right. It also has a full size mirror which is always useful when you're out and about.

freedom pro blush and highlighter palette in bronze and baked swatches
The majority of the shades felt quite soft when swatching, apart from the top white shade which felt rough and chalky. Only two of the shades would be suitable to be used as a blusher (two and three) whilst four of the shades could be used effectively as a highlighter (four, six, seven, and eight).  Number five is quite dark and would work really well as a bronzer. The majority of the shades are all pretty pigmented apart from number one which was really disappointing. I love the finish of the highlighters, especially number seven which has a gorgeous shimmery finish.

I incorporated the palette into my daily routine using number two for blusher, number seven for highlight and number eight for highlighting under my brows. The blusher is very very light and took a lot of swipes to get much of the product to show up. It does however have a nice shimmery finish. I loved the highlighter (number seven) as it gives such a gorgeous shimmer with just one swipe. It's hard to see in the photo but I can assure you it looks fabulous. Number eight adds a subtle gold shimmer that looks lovely when the light bounces off it.

Overall a nice palette that has a good range of pigmented shades. I would say Freedom have marketed it a bit deceptively though as it's not really a blusher palette - it's more of a highlighter/bronzer palette. The blushers aren't that amazing and take a lot of work to get a noticeable result, although you do get a nice shimmer which is a bonus. For £6 it's not a bad price at all and you get quite a lot for your money.

Advantages

  • The majority of the shades are really pigmented and have a lovely shimmery finish
  • Only £6 for eight shades which is a really good buy
  • Comes with a mirror for on the go application

Disadvantages

  • Whilst it's marketed as a blusher and highlighter palette not many of these shades can really be used as a blusher
  • Some of the shades are quite light and take a bit of effort to get your desired finish
  • Number one felt scratchy to apply and the highlight was quite poor

Get a false lash effect with the new L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Fatale

l'oreal volume million lashes fatale review

I've tried a fair few mascaras in my time and I'm always on a mission to find the next big thing. Whilst a mascara may seem amazing initially it soon starts to lose its effect and I start to look for the mascara that can give me the ultimate false lash effect. I recently saw L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Fatale advertised and thought I'd give it a go. It's part of the Volume Millions Range of which has generated a number of spin offs including So Couture and Feline.

The mascara has a unique brush with tiny bristles that are designed to give you that intense volume and length. Whilst all L'Oreal's mascaras are generally good I was really impressed by their latest version. It gave me massive lashes with only two coats of mascara and there were virtually no clumps. Check out the video to see the results.

Sainsbury's Boutique lipstick range review

sainsbury's boutique lipstick range

What the brand says
Boutique is a high quality cosmetic line exclusive to Sainsbury's that offers a touch of luxury when doing the supermarket shop. The capsule range which was established in 2013 by makeup artists Jo Saville and Sophia Price has now become established in over 300 stores.

The lipsticks are formulated to last with strong pigmentation and easy application.

The Lowdown
sainsbury's boutique lipstick range swatchesI hadn't heard of Boutique before, so when I heard about the range through the promotion of National Lipstick Day I was keen to hear more. Supermarket shopping can be boring so I love to spice up my shop with a few treats and makeup is my number one to throw in the trolley. The range has a wide variety of colours with a shade to suit every skin tone. For the purpose of the review I am testing Bed of Roses and Happy As A Clam.

Both of the lipsticks have quite a creamy consistency although Happy As A Clam seemed creamier then Bed of Roses. Bed of Roses is more my shade then Happy As A clam but I will try both as they may look different on.
sainsbury's boutique lipstick range bed of roses swatch
I wasn't too keen on Bed of Roses initially as it looked such a light pink that it would make me look really pale and washed out. When I applied the lipstick I was pleasantly surprised, it was a really pretty light pink that looked really
pretty on.
sainsbury's boutique lipstick range happy as a clam swatch

Happy As A Clam wasn't as bright as it appeared on the stick but I really didn't like it. The lipstick has a really creamy consistency which made it hard to adapt to my lips and it kind of just slid off straight away. It's very nude and I just don't think the slightly off orange shade looks right on my natural lip shade.

Both lipsticks felt comfortable to wear but they didn't have the pleasant vanilla scent a lot of lipsticks have nowadays - instead it was quite a strong chemical aroma.

Bed of Roses dries quite matte and Happy As A Clam seemed to stay very creamy. Both lipsticks lasted a couple of hours before disappearing.

The Boutique range is fairly comfortable to wear but it's let down by the longevity and consistency of some of the shades - i.e. Happy As A Clam. I did however really like Bed of Roses which looks really nice on. Obviously I haven't tested all the shades so I can't say it would be the same for every lipstick. I would also have prefered a nice vanilla scent as this makes them a lot more attractive.

I give the lipsticks 2/5

Wearing Happy As A Clam

Advantages

  • Nice creamy consistency
  • Both lipsticks are fairly comfortable to wear
  • Wide range of shades available

Disadvantages

  • Happy As A Clam is so creamy it pretty much slips off straight away and doesn't really adapt to the lips
  • The lipsticks only last a few hours
  • Majority of the shades can only be picked up in store

Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro lipstick Make It In The City review

makeup revolution iconic pro lipstick make it in the city

What the brand says
Makeup Revolution want to make your lips the star of the show with their Iconic Pro lipsticks. The collection is full of the most desirable shades that offer both comfort and intense coverage.

There are currently 20 shades in the range including the stylish Duel Matte, Looking Ahead and Liberty Matte.

The Lowdown
makeup revolution iconic pro lipstick make it in the city reviewWhilst there are so many fabulous shades in this collection, the shade Make It in the City stuck out the most to me. It's a beautiful berry pink that has a subtle shimmer running throughout the bullet. It has a pleasant vanilla scent that is quite subtle.

It applies pretty smoothly (as long as your lips aren't wet) and has a pretty satin shimmery matte finish. It feels comfortable to wear and isn't drying. I love the colour which is a really vibrant bright pink.

The lipstick lasts a few hours with full coverage but quickly fades away leaving a slight residue. This residue is however still visible over 8 years later. If you eat and drink wearing this lipstick it fades pretty quick as well.

I love how good value this lipstick is at just £2.49 it's a real budget friendly buy - especially when payday seems so far away!

The colour is great and it does feel lovely on but you will have to keep applying it throughout the day.

I give it 3/5

10 ways to feel better about yourself

10 ways to feel better about yourself

On days when everything seems to go wrong it can be easy to doubt yourself, your life and your achievements. Whilst it's hard to be upbeat all the time it's important to remember we need the bad times to realise how awesome the good days really are. Here's ten top tips to feel better about yourself when you feel like the world is taking a dump on you.

Don't give up
Whether it's a minor upset like a flat tyre or even something more long term like illness, try to remember the majority of these setbacks are temporary. Keep positive and remember the only way is up.

Believe in yourself
If you don't believe in yourself then can you really expect others to? One of the biggest supporters you can get in life is yourself and if you sing your praises loud enough people will hear. Figure out what you want and what you need to do and if you want it strongly enough you will get there.

The world isn't out there to get you
If lots of things go wrong at once you may think the world hates you. The world doesn't have an agenda, it's just unfortunate that sometimes coincidence can result in bad patches that seem to go on forever. When nothing seems to go right focus on something you know works for you and go from there.

Be mindful of your thoughts
Did you know you have thousands of thoughts a day - some conscious, some not. Some of those thoughts may seem quite unpleasant and often these can override all the good thoughts and ruin a good mood. A good thing about the complexity of your brain is that it can be trained and once you become aware of the negative thoughts you can start to dismiss them for more positive thoughts.

Be strong
Whatever the situation it is possible to get through it. Use your inner strength to overcome the challenge and show it who's boss. You've probably faced many darker times in your life that make this particular setback seem insignificant.

Be your own biggest fan
If you're not happy with the way you are or what you do then change it. Obviously this may not happen quickly, but even the smallest baby steps will help you get there. Love yourself and realise you can work on a strategy to get where you want to be. Remove the painful things in your life and things will start to get brighter.

Aim for the stars (but not too high)
Whilst it's important to have aims and ambitions, it's important not to want too much. If for example your dream is to own that 10 bed mansion in the Hollywood Hills then unless you're the next biggest thing it probably will never happen. Don't let yourself be disappointed by aiming higher then you can reach.

Don't let cruel words get to you
Humans can be raw and sometimes very cruel. If someone has said something nasty to you for whatever reason it can really sting, especially if they don't know you. If the comment spouts from jealousy or the person is just being nasty ignore it and try to move on as they probably just want a reaction. If however they are trying to help you by offering constructive criticism it may be something you could learn from.

Disappointment happens to everyone
Even the most successful people in life suffered so many knocks before they got to where they are today. One fabulous example is JK Rowling who faced many rejections from publishers before finding someone who agreed to print Harry Potter. Guess how red faced those publishers are today! Whoever you are, and whatever you do in life you'll face disappointment but use that to learn from your mistakes and get it right the next time.

Face your fears
Fear is scary and it can stop you doing things. Overcoming fear on the other hand can leave you feeling exhilarated and incredibly proud of what you've managed to overcome. By facing your fears you're keeping your ambition and desire alive and discover you're so much stronger for it.

Next time you're feeling down bear these tips in mind and turn that frown upside down. Whether you do it alone or with a friend you'll start to see the world in a more positive light.

Sleek highlighting palette in Solstice review

sleek highlighting palette solstice

What the brand says
Sleek have got it in the bag with their quad highlighting palette that's designed to suit all skin tones. The palette is in shade Solstice and has two baked powders, a cream formula and a luxury silky shimmer powder. It can be used all over the face for a radiant glow and on the skin for a luminous sheen.

The Lowdown
I've seen this palette on so many blogs and youtube videos and it looks so beautiful. In all the pictures the highlighter pigment looks so strong and gives a fabulous glow. I had resisted buying
sleek highlighting palette solstice shades
it till now but on a recent browse in Boots I had to add it to my basket.

The shades are quite universal and it's great that it's suitable for all skin tones as it makes it a lot more accessible. The palette has a little instruction guide on the back which shows how you can use each highlighter shade for a different part of your face. It's great that it's broken it down like this as I would probably tend to stick to one or two shades when applying highlighter so it's good to step outside the box a bit.

The palette is encased in super sleek shiny gold packaging and that makes it look more expensive than it actually is. Each highlighter seems to have a galaxy inspired name which may be inspired by the highlighters intense sparkle.
sleek highlighting palette guide

sleek highlighting palette solstice swatchEcliptic and Hemisphere are definitely the most pigmented of the highlighters and give a gorgeous finish. I love how natural Hemisphere looks and it gives a really subtle glow that the light catches and it literally lasts all day. Subsolar is very subtle and gives a light subtle gold shimmer whilst Equinox is very glittery when applied to the skin.

As for longevity every highlighter was visible around 8 hours later although Hemisphere was the only one that looked the same as it did when it was applied. The creamier shadows Ecliptic and Subsolar had started to lose their intensity whilst Equinox my least favourite just looked like a lot of separated glitter. I did apply Equinox to my cupid's bow so it may work better on another location like the cheekbones as it does look fabulous in the swatch.

This is a fabulous palette with some stunning highlighters and I think it will probably become my number one palette to go to when I apply highlighter.

I give it 4/5

  • Has four shades in one so you can use them all together or apart for various looks

  • Every highlighter lasts all day

Disadvantages

  • Equinox didn't really highlight, it seemed to just add a bit of sparkle as the finish seems to be all glitter

Transform your hair with Irresistible Me Diamond hair straighteners

irresistible me diamond hair straighteners

Bad hair days can be a real pain, especially when you've just walked out of your house after styling your hair and it instantly goes 'poof.'

I love that feeling you get when you walk out of a hair salon with super sleek, shiny glossy hair. When I style my hair at home however my hair straighteners just don't have the same effect and I don't know about you but it's incredibly frustrating!

Recently I was approached to try out Irresistible Me Diamond encrusted hair straighteners that are set to rival GHDs. I was intrigued as they looked great and my current straighteners weren't really doing anything for my hair.

Watch the video to see the benefits and what it did for my hair.

The iron glided through my hair with ease and I was left with super sleek smooth hair. The only downside I found was that when I curl my hair with the iron the curls don't seem to last very long which is quite disappointing.

You can get Irresistible Me professional flat iron for $149.  Don't forget to get your international plug adaptor if you don't have one already as this is an American product!

Do let me know if you have tried anything from Irresistible Me and what you think if you've tried the straighteners!

Five tips for getting the most out of your beauty bucks

five tips for getting the most out of your beauty bucks

Looking gorgeous doesn't have to result in the spending of lots of money. By knowing what skincare products you should be buying and focusing on your skin's specific needs, instead of getting fooled by clever marketing, you get value for money as well as a beautiful complexion. Here are some important skincare tips to bear in mind.
Make Exfoliation Your First Step
Scrub away dead skin first - this is an important part of your skincare routine because it helps products you apply to get better absorbed into your skin. Why is this important? Exfoliation enables the products you apply to your skin to work more effectively and show you the results you want. If you don’t exfoliate, you're applying skincare products to this surface barrier of skin, which wastes them because they won’t be able to penetrate it.
how to make your beauty funds last longer

Keep It Simple
There are many products out there, all promising to do different things for your skin, but if you use too many of them you can actually create problems for your skin. For instance, overuse of products can cause skin irritation. Stick to a simple skin routine because your skin actually needs less, not more, to look its healthiest! When you have a skincare routine that's minimal and works for your skin, stick to it instead of thinking you need to change it.
Tweak, Don't Change, Your Skincare Routine With The Seasons
We're always told to change our skincare routines and products when the seasons change because our skin requires different things, but this doesn't mean a complete change to your skincare products. Just one or two changes are all you need to keep your skin glowing. If you're going to change one skincare product, make it your moisturiser. When the weather gets colder, your moisturiser should be thicker to provide you with a stronger barrier to the harsh elements. In summer, your moisturiser should be thinner. Serums are nice and light while infusing your skin with nutrients to keep it gorgeous.
You Can Mix 'N Match Products From Different Lines
Although we're encouraged to stick to the same skincare product line, this isn't always realistic. Sometimes one or two products will be good for us, while others in the line are not suited to our skin types. You can mix and match products without feeling that you have to use all the items in one line. Focus on what's better for your skin and target your specific skin problems to get the most value from a range of different products.
how to save money for beauty products

Use DIY Whenever You Can
Instead of lashing out money for the latest exfoliating product or face mask, make your own with ingredients found right in your kitchen. For instance, bicarb and honey makes for a great face scrub, while bananas are a skin-nourishing ingredient that work as a face mask to give you radiant, softer skin in an instant. DIY products not only cut back on your spending but they are also better for your skin by preventing the use of harsh chemicals. Lots of highly-fragranced, expensive products contain toxins that are not only damaging to your health but can cause skin problems, so avoid them in favor of natural, nourishing ingredients.
Having beautiful skin doesn't mean you should be buying lots of expensive skin products. It is more about being smarter about skincare. Follow the above tips to save money and get radiant, healthy skin.

Accessorize Metallic Eyeshadow in Copper Review

accessorize metallic eyeshadow in copper

What the brand says
Accessorize Metallic eyeshadows are perfect for adding a spot of glamour with their vibrant foil-effect finish. The collection is available in three shades Lilac, Copper and Gunmetal.

The Lowdown
For the purpose of the review I am testing the eyeshadow in Copper. The eyeshadow comes in simple girly packaging with a cute flower and butterfly design that really fits in with Accessorize image. The eyeshadow has a deep intense metallic shimmer that can be seen throughout the whole shadow. The top of the shadow is smooth and creamy and I love the colour.

accessorize metallic eyeshadow
I remember trying cream eyeshadows as a teenager and one thing I hated more then anything was how liable they are to crease. I was hoping this would be a little different as it's been a fair few years since I was a teen and technology has moved on a little. The consistency of the eyeshadow is really light so after applying I had a thin layer of gold shadow on my eyelids. Not long after applying the eyeshadow started to crease and by the evening there was just  a small film of glitter that remained.

The eyeshadow didn't crease as badly as some cream eyeshadows I've tried but this may simply be down to the consistency of the shadow. Ultimately it is a bit too faint for my liking and I like my eyeshadow to last.

I give it 1/5

Disadvantages

Nail of the day: MUA nail polish in Bright Coral

nail of the day review

mua nail polish reviews
MUA Nail polish in Bright Coral is a gorgeous vibrant red shade. The formula is relatively thick so I was able to get really good coverage on each nail on one application. I did apply two layers just so my nail couldn't be seen through the varnish but it didn't take much longer to do. The varnish dries really quickly and it has a fabulously sleek shiny finish. It did however chip after one day which wasn't too impressive.

The varnish is really good value but if you're not careful you can chip it easily. However at £1 you're not spending much and it does look great on. The nail polish is also available in 10 other shades.

Currently on offer for £0.50 at Superdrug, get it whilst it's hot!

As soon as I set eyes on this blusher I loved it. It has such a cute heart design and amazing pigmentation. It's a total dupe for Too Faced Sweetheart Something About Berry (£24 at Debenhams) but is over 3 times cheaper. Read the full review here.

Get perfect natural looking brows with HD Brows V-Tec Brow Definer

hd brows v-tec brow pencil review

What the brand says
Transform your eyebrows with High Definition V-Tec Brow Definer. The pencil has been redesigned to give a precise, accurate finish. Formulated with a blend of waxes, V-Tec has a non oily formula that is designed to last.

The Lowdown
I've tried a fair few brow products over the last few years and whilst most have been okay, they've never looked completely natural.

hd brows v-tec brow pencil brown tipAt the recent Veet event I got to discover High Definition brow liner and I was left feeling very impressed. Unlike a lot of brow pencils or liners that give a very faint or gloopy finish High Definition gives the perfect result. The tip is slanted so it's easier for you to follow the natural shape of your eyebrow and it has a really soft tip which allows you to slowly shade in your brow without it looking too full on.If you just want to focus on a certain area it also has a raised top edge which allows you to put more pressure on. When you start to run out you can simply wind the pencil up and more product appears.  I love this as my eyebrow pencils always break when I sharpen them. Once you've finished shading there's a spooler attached on the other side of the pen so you can groom your brows. The product is quite long lasting until you get the area wet so it won't last in the bath or if you wore it out swimming.

I'm so glad I discovered the High Definition Brow pencil. It gives my brows a full look that looks completely natural even up close.

I believe the V-Tec Brow Definer is a special edition product that will only be available in the Veet Christmas gift. There is however a virtually identical brow pencil - Browtec which is on sale at HD Brows for £16.00. It's available in three shades Foxy, Bombshell and Vamp.

I give it 4/5
before and after hd brows v-tec brow pencil

Advantages

  • There's no need to sharpen it which saves lots of frustrating broken pencil moments!
  • The slanted tip allows you to easily follow the curve of your brow for easy shading
  • Gives a really natural finish

Disadvantages

  • Doesn't last very long if it gets wet

makeup revolution girl panic eyeshadow reviewThe Lowdown
So it's the usual story, I was having a little browse in Superdrug whilst waiting for Peugeot to install Carplay on my car. I don't know if any of you have Carplay but I have jumped through hoops to get this as no one seems to have heard of it. Turns out there was someone at the dealership who was very much aware. There's always one in the know!

makeup revolution girl panic available shadesAnywho, whilst waiting I had a quick browse in Superdrug. I picked up a few items but what caught my eye was Makeup Revolution Girl Panic. I haven't seen this palette before so it may be fairly new. As i'm not a huge fan of matte shades I was glad this palette focused more on shimmer, as a lot of their newer palettes have been all about the matte eyeshadows. It has quite a varied colour spectrum with pinks, nudes and smokey shades all in the same palette. The shimmer shades were quite pigmented but By Invitation, Girlfriend, Chelsea Mayhem and Get Closer were incredibly strong shimmery colours. Demolition seemed more matte than the others but there was a small amount of glitter running deep within it. Three of the matte shades were very light and hard to detect but the darker three Hypnotic, Mesmerised and Clever Words had more pigmentation.

For the look I'm creating I'm going to be using Let It Happen, Girlfriend, Chelsea Mayhem and Going Nowhere.

To recreate my look simply follow these simple instructions:
1. First apply Let It Happen all over your lid and under your brow bone
2. Apply Girlfriend in the inner corner of your eye and sweep it out up to a 1/4 of the lid
3. Sweep Chelsea Mayhem along the other 3/4 of your lid and blend the two shades together
4. Finally blend Going Nowhere into the very outer edge of your lid so you have a lovely contrast of three shades.

makeup revolution girl panic matte swatchesmakeup revolution girl panic eyeshadow palette shimmer swatchesTo get a good colour payoff I did have to press really quite hard but once the colour is on it stays put all day. There is no fall out either which is pretty good for shimmer shadows. I would say however the majority of Makeup Revolution's palettes are great in that they rarely drop down around the eye and on the face. The finish was a lovely shimmery eye that blended together really well.

I like how the palette has a good range of different colours so is suitable for lots of different occasions. There's a mixture of shimmer and matte shades so depending on what you prefer you're bound to find something you like. The only thing I would say is some of the shades require a lot of pressure to get a good amount of colour, and as always the lighter matte shades do not have much pigment.

I give it 4/5
