Exclusive *An interview with top indian celebrity blogger Miss Malini! * Exclusive

Today I have a treat for you!
A interview with India's hottest celebrity blogger Miss Malini. If you've ever wondered what her hot makeup tips are or whether she thinks cheap makeup is just as good as expensive brands then read on!

What's your best beauty tip?
My best beauty tip is a quick fix for tired eyes. I find that putting on some kajal, mascara and lip gloss can brighten up my look instantly, just be sure to find a nice smudge proof kajal (so far I like Lakmé's new Eyeconic Kajal and Curling Mascara to do the trick.) When I want to create a dramatic winged eye liner effect I use the L'Oreal Paris Instant Impact Felt Liner so I have greater control on the shape of the liner. I love that look for a night out! For my lips I like Mac's Spice lipliner to fill in my whole lip and top up with an Ample Pink gloss. Also ALWAYS remember to moisturize before applying makeup, and to take off your makeup at night... no matter how tired you are!
Do you think cheap makeup is just as good as expensive brands?
I think it depends on the product, some less expensive brands have great products but I would advise testing them on your skin first to see if they suit you. When it comes to skin primers and concealer I find the more expensive ones to be more effective. I love Esteé Lauder's concealer because it blends so brilliantly.
What is your favourite make up piece of all time?
My favorite piece of makeup has always been my kajal pencil. On days when I don't have time to put on any other makeup, or when I want to give my skin a break, all I do is swipe on a little kajal and I feel better looking in the mirror. I never leave home without it!

Where do you get your inspiration for your look?
My look has changed over the years from dark lips to a more girly, glossy one. It's something I became fond of from all the times I've had my makeup done professionally, and tips I've picked up along the way. I've learned a lot about what suits my skin, and since mine tends to be oily I generally avoid heavy foundation. Often I'll experiment with hot colors of the season, but I've always liked a bold eye with lots of kajal and mascara. I guess that comes from growing up seeing my mom always wear kajal when she went out :)

Stop your makeup smudging wth Collection 2000 Fix Me Up Long lasting makeup fixer

So you've spent hours on your makeup and you're all ready to hit the town. Hours in your makeups all smudged and you've lost your post outing inner glow. So what do you do? Do you try those makeup fixer products that are now available.

More to the point are they any good?

Collection 2000 Fix ME Up Long Lasting Makeup fixer comes in a small black bottle with headline pink labelling. After applying my makeup I placed the fixer around 3 inches from my face and sprayed from my forehead to my chin including my eyes (closed of course). Many people may worry about their makeup smudging but I didn't experience any running, even from my mascara.

As the purpose of this product is to fix your makeup I took another photo later on ni the evening to see how well my makeup had stayed on. The result was clear; my makeup had definitely faded and didn't have the strong colours of newly applied makeup. However my makeup hadn't run or gone south so ni that there is a small victory!

I'll give it a 3/5
 Straight after application                                                                           Evening version

Advantages
  • Keeps your makeup in place
  • Doesn't smudge your makeup on application
  • Easy to use
 Disadvantages
  • Doesn't keep your makeup looking strong - it simply fixes it

Jemma Kidd Makeup School in Peachie eyeshadow

Jemma Kidd eyeshadow in Peachie is a shimmer sensation in a pot.

It comes in a little box with a illustrativedesigned front and insde s a handy information leaflet. If you ever wondered what the best way to apply your eyeshadow is, Jemma Kidd has included a little makeup tutorial for you.

There's no brush so you have to apply it wth your fingers or your own brush but it goes on really easily wth just the fingertips.

The eyeshadow is really durable and long lasting and by the evening the colour is still pretty strong.

Once applied the colour is a lot more faint then it appears in the pot but it still mantains a rather glitzy shimmer. Perfect for the christmas seeason.

I'll give it a 4/5

Jemma Kidd Stain Flush Cream Blusher in Masquerade: Does it rule the roost in cream blushers?

Jemma Kidd is reknown for its quality in designer makeup. The Jemma Kidd stain and flush cream blusher comes in a gorgeous bright pink box with a little window to see through to the blusher.

The cream blush is a gel like format that applies quite thinly to my fingers so it took several applications to get any real colour on my cheeks.

I felt the result was really natural with a faint rosey glow that doesn't look as obvious as some powder blushers can.

I'll give it a 3/5

You can buy Jemma Kidd blusher in Masquerade for £8.70 on Amazon

 Advantages
  • The cream format means there's no need for a brush
  • Easy to apply
  • Lovely girly packaging
  • Offers a natural rosy glow
Disadvantages
  • The blush is quite thin so needs quite a few applications to be seen on the skin

It's time to get christmassy with Xmas Clementines cupcakes

Today I felt inspired to get in the Christmas mood and make some delightful christmas themed cakes. To add a Xmas feel the cakes were created with bite sized pieces of clementine mixed with flour, sugar and eggs. This adds a fruity zest to the cake that gives it a real kick and makes it extra juicy. With the remaining clementine juice I mixed it with icing sugar to create the icing I placed my Christmas motifs on.

Starting off with a Christmas tree I sprinkled edible gold stars onto the icing.

Next up is the ultimate reminder of Christmas, a snowman. Sadly I had run out of white icng so yellow had to do! (Very Simpsonfied)

Last but not least is my Santa Claus cupcakes. With no white icing I had to improvise on his beard with silver balls and a ball for his hat.

Max Factor FaceFinity All Day Flawless is a whole new product that saves time AND money

When I heard about the three in one Max Factor foundation, primer and concealer I was very interested in trying it out.

The three in one product comes in eight different shades and has quite traditional packaging with a squirty top.

On first apperances the foundation-primer and concealler has the consistency of foundation and doesn't appear as thick as you'd imagine a 3 in 1 product to.

I applied two very small blobs to my hand and using a foundation brush spread it evenly over each part of my face. The liquid blended into my skin really easily with little resistance and it is immediatly obvious of the effect of the Facefinity with any discolouration camoflauged and a even glow in its place.

I was intially sceptical of whether there would really be a concealing element with Facefinity as often foundations are too thin to really add a concealing effect. I was very surprised to find that the product is a lot thicker then most foundations without masking the skin and any under eye circles I had were no longer visible.

Max Factor's FaceFinity is a amazing product with real potential and eliminates the need for any extra primer or concealer ensuring that your face will always be one shade. For its staying power and effectiveness I'll give it a 5/5

 Advantages
  • Max Factor Facefinity has three products in one, a foundation, primer and concealer, meaning you save money and time
  • Comes in 8 shades so there's a colour for everyone
  • Blends in really well and two blobs will cover the whole face
  • The product is a lot thicker then traditional foundations but doesn't mask the skin, and any blemishes will be completely covered
 Disadvantages
  • None that I can find !
You can buy Max Factor FaceFinity in Warm Almond (my shade) for £11.99 here

Rimmel Metal Rush Pearly Queen Flip Your Colour

Rimmel Metal Rush in Pearly Queen has an enticing colour that instantly makes you pick it off the shelf.

With shades of green, pink and purple, Rimmel's Flip Your Colour is a unique but eyecatching combination.

The nail varnish took around two coatings for the colour to fully coat the whole nail but I found it to be very quick drying. When I turn my nails one one way they are pink, and when I flip them the other way they are light green. The purple is not so evident on the nails but by a mixture of green and pink the purple is slightly evident.

With a protection covering the nails aren't prone to chipping and I feel I can get a good few days wear out of this nail varnish.

I'll give it 5/5 for its uniqueness and great colours!

Advantages
  • Fantastic flip colour nail varnish
  • Unique colouring is really on trend
  • Long lasting so it does not chip easily
  • Dries quickly
Disadvantages
  • None as far as I can see!
