The Lowdown
It's been a long time since I've seen a eyeshadow with a pen applicator. I saw them a lot in the past and I wasn't the biggest fan as they were often very creamy and pretty much always creased (not a good look). So I was surprised to see this relaunch in one of Boots Max Factor free gifts. The eyeshadow I received was Night Sky, a shimmery smoky grey shade. The eyeshadow is pretty versatile in that it can be worn in a number of ways, on its own as a shadow, underneath a powder eyeshadow or even as a eyeliner on your bottom lashline. It does have a rather offensive smell which I'm not a fan of. The wand has a sponge applicator which is easily maneuverable and the formula has a very creamy consistency.

I was expecting the eyeshadow to feel really sticky and uncomfortable when I applied it but it felt absolutely fine and glided on really easily. Night Sky is more of a light blue shade when on and the pigmentation is okay although it looked a little bare on certain patches of the lid. After a number of hours the shadow remains uncreased and the colour is still really quite strong.

I'm very glad to see this kind of eyeshadow has changed in the last few years, and the formula has much better staying power. The shadow doesn't crease, isn't sticky or irritating and is a pleasure to wear.

I give it 4/5

Whilst the rest of the collection is available for £6.99 at Superdrug I can only find Night Sky on Amazon at £14.14!! (doesn't seem to be available anywhere else)
