Matte lips are the latest trend to hit the beauty sphere. If you want to create a statement look then matte lips are perfect as they leave a velvety finish that makes people take a second look. With matte lipsticks in hot shades like deep pinks and reds they're not easy to pull off but if you do it right they can look flawless.
Whilst traditional lipsticks tend to be quite moisturising with shimmer, matte lipsticks have one flat colour with no added shine. They tend to have better staying power than typical lipsticks but also can emphasise dryness and flakes so you may want to exfoliate your lips prior to use.

Many brands are working the matte lipstick trend at the moment so if you want to try it but don't want to spend too much in case you don't like it you'll find something that fits your budget.
