The Lowdown
I've tried a few matte foundations and have found them to give great coverage, although sometimes they seem to be a little thick. Maybelline state there's 2x more water in this foundation in comparison to their Dream Satin Liquid for a more comfortable wear. I generally don't have a problem with how a foundation feels on my skin but the extra water content may have a effect on the overall finish. Like a lot of foundations it claims to have 12 hour wear which is quite bold as often the product doesn't live up to the claim.The consistency of the foundation was very creamy with more of a fluid feel to it than most matte foundations. I couldn't really say it really reminded me of a gel though. The product which is in shade ivory was a decent colour match and gave pretty good coverage. After applying the foundation I applied powder and MUA makeup fixer as I do with any other foundation. After I had finished my makeup I felt the look was very fresh and glowing.
By evening the foundation had pretty much disappeared completely. I didn't look fresh anymore and felt my face looked really tired. This is one foundation that really doesn't live up to the 12 hour wear promise.
